WHAT: The FlexVision XL is a new viewing concept with a 56 inch (125 cm) LCD screen that enables clinicians to display multiple images simultaneously in their own preferred size and layout. Covering an area bigger than the equivalent of six standard monitors, it is now available commercially.

Showcased at RSNA last year, the FlexVision XL has received excellent feedback from clinicians that used a prototype of the solution. The flexible viewing capabilities, sharp zoomed images and ease of use were greatly appreciated by the early users. With FlexVision XL, clinicians can perform procedures how and where it's best for them, their team and patient, without worrying where the display is.

WHY: In today's interventional setting, clinicians are performing more complex procedures, with smaller devices, in complex anatomy - a difficult combination. Clinicians often have to sort through diagnostic information from multiple sources to help guide their intervention. To help clinicians with these challenging viewing requirements, Philips has introduced a new viewing concept: FlexVision XL. It provides outstanding viewing flexibility and supports clinicians in carrying out procedures more efficiently.

Professor Moret, director of Neuroradiology at the Foundation Rothschild in Paris, France, who has been testing the FlexVision XL since last year said: "I have found the FlexVision to be a great help as it allows me to enlarge images, enabling me to easily see the level of detail that I need from wherever I need to see it during complex neuroradiology procedures. The technology gives me a better appreciation of the vessel structure in the brain."

FlexVision XL can be fully integrated into the Philips Allura Xper system and easily controlled at the tableside by the Xper Module.

The FlexVision XL has been used at test sites in Paris, Berlin and Seattle.
