Yeovil District Hospital has, for the second year running, been named as one of the Top 100 healthcare organisations to work for in the UK.
The accolade is thanks to many of the hospital's 1800 staff responding positively to a questionnaire sent out jointly by the Nursing Times, Health Service Journal and NHS Employers. Staff from across the hospital responded to a wealth of questions asking them what it is like to work at the hospital.
In a letter to the Trust stating that Yeovil District Hospital is in the Top 100 List the editors of the Health Service Journal and the Nursing Times said: "This is a tremendous achievement which reflects extremely well on your employment practices and as a reflection of how your employees feel about their place of work. We had a very high number of entries, from both the NHS and the independent sector, and you can be justly proud to be included in the Top 100".
Chief Executive, Gavin Boyle said: "I am obviously delighted that the majority of our staff who responded to this questionnaire enjoy working at the Trust. We work hard to be a good employer and are always striving to learn from staff involvement."
The overall winner and the top 10 ranked organisations will be named at a ceremony to be held on March 2. Last year the Trust was ranked as number 33 and it is hoping that it will be even higher up the league table this time.
The Trust is also celebrating gaining second place in a national award scheme for the Best Acute Healthcare Provider category of the Healthcare Finance Managers Association Awards.
